Common uses
- Countdowns: days until Christmas, a holiday, a wedding or a due date.
- Work and pay: business days in a pay period, notice periods, or how long until an invoice is overdue.
- Deadlines: "within 30 days" or "within 14 business days" type deadlines in contracts, warranties and government letters.
- Travel and visas: how many days you've been away or how long you can stay.
Should I include the end date?
By default, the calculator counts the days from the start date to the end date, the way you'd count nights in a hotel. From Monday to Friday is 4 days. Tick "include the end date" if both the first and last days should count, such as days of annual leave or event days. Monday to Friday then becomes 5 days.
Business days and public holidays
Business days here are Monday to Friday. Public holidays differ between states and some regions, so subtract any that fall in your range. For legal or official deadlines, check exactly how the deadline is defined, since some count calendar days and others count business days.
